A Warriors Journey

For my art project my class was told to think up an idea for the theme 'Journey'. For example you could choose to look into the cycle of a butterfly or how a piece of fruit decays over time, the Journey of it. I chose to look into Dreams because they're unpredictable and so incredibly interesting from just ordinary life, in my dream I had the possibility of being a Warrior or a Native American Woman maybe even someone in a nightmare!

The image above was taken with a Canon 600D by a good friend of mine. I wanted my idea to be set in the woods and luckily I had the perfect spot near where I live, it also happened to have a sectioned off area because of a strong wind that had recently hit England which brought some of the trees down where we were shooting.
Which is why in the images you can see some red tape and some trees sadly snapped in half, although it did help out with creating a really good shot for my work. While we were shooting I had forgotten to remove my coat from the scene so I had to remove it while I was editing the photos later on, I changed some of the Hue/Saturation settings to make the image brighter and more contrasted in colour. I decided to sharpen parts of the trees to give them more of a harsh edge, by using the curves effect I made the background around me appear as though it had been raining.

For this image I wanted to keep the colour from looking cold and damp and just brightened up the image changing the contrast and also making my outfit and hair stand out more in the process.

This image is the same as the first one in editing but the photo itself is just slightly different as I was standing at a different angle

The image above was also taken in the same place just outside of the wooded area, it was really nice to capture the willow trees's leaves around me as though I was looking around to find out where I had to go next on my journey!

This image is the original, no editing was taken place here. (If there was any it would just be a contrast and hue boost)

I really like this image because you can see a wider angle of the scene/set where we was using to shoot in, very tall trees had fallen down from the harsh winds and like I said earlier about the tape being put around them so people wouldn't get hurt. Naturally I went inside and said it was the perfect place for my idea - capturing the events that had happened naturally.

The image had been edited with the same effects as the first image at the top ^

These lasts two images (above & below) have only been edited by boosting up the contrast and hue/saturation abit more and sharpening the image as some areas I found were a tad blurry.

They were taken by my boyfriend in his garden, I was borrowing his bow & arrow along with his crossbow for the effect of me being a warrior I wanted to have/show some kind of weapon. It was such a beautiful day when we were shooting, as you can see in the photos my boyfriend captured some sunlight orbs and you can also see the brightness of the sun in the top right-hand corner.

For my outfit I was wearing:

Black Bodycon Dress from Ebay for about £5-£10
Peace Necklace from a Cosplay/Comic-Con Convention up London called MCM Expo, which was £7
Brown/Beige Elasticated Belt with Buckle At the Front also from Ebay for about £5-£10 (Including P&P)
Burgundy/Wine coloured woolen tights that were £5 from Peacocks
Black Military Styled Boots from Newlook between £20-£35
Brown Leather Gloves Also from Expo for £12
